Homemade Groundnut cake recipe

Homemade groundnut cake is formed from caramelized sugar and peanut, also known as groundnut or Arachis hypogaea. It’s been proven that peanut is extremely beneficial to our health. They assist to scale back the danger of some diseases and they also help to enhance the immune system.

Groundnuts are rich in protein, fat, vitamins and minerals, and various healthy nutrients. Homemade groundnut cake recipe requires the utilization of only two ingredients, which are; peanut or groundnut and sugar.

Equipment

  • Spoon
  • Rolling Pin
  • Parchment Paper
  • Pastry Board

Ingredients

  • 1 cup groundnuts
  • 1/2 – 1 cup sugar

Procedure

  1. Select your groundnut and pick out the bad ones.
  2. Roast groundnuts, cool and remove the skins.
  3. Place the groundnut on a pastry board and roll over with a rolling pin to break the groundnut into bits.
  4. Put your saucepan on the heat, add your sugar to the saucepan and allow to caramelize ( i.e melt into liquid state).
  5. Add your groundnut to the caramelized or melted sugar and mix well.
  6. Stir for about 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Transfer to a parchment paper on a smooth surface. Use a parchment paper to cover the groundnut, roll it out, and cut to any size and shape of your choice or you can leave it to cool, then break with the fingers.
  8. You can serve with any drink of your choice e.g soya milk, zobo juice, etc.
