Soya beans, also written as soybeans is one of the richest and cheapest sources of protein. The major benefit of soybeans is its high protein content. It is also rich in vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. Soybean contains a significant amount of calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, sodium, manganese, phosphorus, copper, selenium, and zinc. They have little saturated fat and no cholesterol. Health benefits of soybean include healthy weight gain, relieve menopausal symptoms, boost digestion, increase bone and heart health. Soya beans products include soya milk, soy flour or powder, tofu, and soy oil.
Soya milk, also written as soy milk is a milk substitute that is made from soybean. Soya milk is a refreshing rich drink. It is a great alternative to normal milk for those that are lactose intolerant or allergic to whole cow milk. It is good for all ages but as an adult, it is recommended that instead of taking animal protein like cow milk, the best milk to take plants protein.
In this post, I will be teaching you how to make soy milk using just four ingredients.
2 Cups Soya beans. Two cups dried soya beans, after soaking doubles in size.
1 1/2 Litres water.
Sugar or Honey.
Flavour of choice.
Pick and soak beans seed in water overnight or for 10 hours so it can become soft and easy to take off the skin.
Decant the water, add clean water and peel off the skin by rubbing the soya beans between your palms .
Rinse multiple times until the seeds come out clean.
Put the clean beans in a blender. Add ginger and some water and blend till smooth.
Pour the blended soya beans in a cheese cloth to extract the milk from the chaff.
Pour the extracted milk into a pot, add water and boil on medium heat for about 15 minutes.
