Rice Powder

Rice Flour


  • Paper Towel
  • Spatula
  • Fine Mesh strainer
  • Larger Skillet
  • Sieve
  • Blender


  • 2 Cups Rice
  • Water


  • Rinse the rice thoroughly under cold running water or rinse in the water a couple of times. Soak in water for 3 to 5 hours.
  • After 3 to 5 hours, drain the rice in a fine-mesh strainer for about 15 minutes. 
  • Place a large paper towel on the table or countertop, Spread the rice out on the paper towel to dry for about an hour or more. The rice should be slightly damp and not wet. Note: do not dry in sun or oven.
  • Blend the rice grains in a blender until a fine consistency is achieved or until the texture is a fine powder.
  • Sieve the rice flour. After sieving returns the clumps back to the blender and blend again and sieve.
  • Repeat this process until all the rice has been finely ground. 
  • Spread the rice in a tray or flat place and let it dry or heat a large skillet over medium heat, add the rice flour to the pan. Stir constantly until all the stream has evaporated. Remove from heat and cool at room temperature. 
  • Store in an airtight container.
