How to parboil or precook rice.

The parboiling process is done by precooking rice (without the husk) in order to reduce its starch content.

  • Sieve


  • 1 cup Rice
  • 2 cups Water


  • Wash the rice in cold water and place in a pot of boiling water.
  • Leave it to cook for 10 minutes
  • Drain the water from the rice with the help of sieve or colander
  • Pass the rice through cold running water
  • Leave in the sieve to drain all the water.
  • Your rice is now precooked.
