Cut and wash the fish thoroughly with either salt, lime, lemon, or hot water until the slime is gone. If you are using hot water in washing the fish, I advise you to submerge the fish in hot water for 5 minutes, then pour out the water and wash thoroughly with cold water.
Once the fish is thoroughly washed, transfer to a pot, add the ground pepper soup spice, ginger, garlic (if using), chopped onions, seasoning cubes, salt and allow to boil for 15 minutes.
Add ground or chopped pepper, chopped scent leaves and cook on medium heat for 15 minutes.
The pepper soup should be ready. serve hot with cold juice.
