How To Make Peanut Butter

Peanut butter is a spread or paste made from ground roasted peanuts or groundnut. When peanuts are ground, they produce oil which helps to create a paste consistency.

Peanuts are a rich source of protein, dietary fiber and they also contain monounsaturated fatty acids, antioxidants, folate, niacin, vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin A, sodium, calcium and magnesium e.t.c.

Peanuts also known as groundnut or monkey nut (in the United Kingdom) belong to a family of Fabaceae and species of Arachis Hypogaea. Peanut butter helps in losing weight, lowering cholesterol levels, preventing type II diabetes, preventing cancer, regulating blood sugar level, reducing the risk of gallstones e.t.c.

Peanut butter is a great addition to a daily diet and it should be eaten moderately, a serving size of two (2 ) tablespoons is recommended. It is served as a spread on bread, sandwiches, toast, apple e.t.c. You can make this recipe with just two ingredients in 10 to 15 minutes. In this post, I will be discussing the process involved in making peanut butter at home. The process is easy and straightforward.

Peanut butter(HOMEMADE PEANUT BUTTER)

Equipment

  • Blender or food processor
  • Glass Jar
  • Measuring cup
  • Spoon

Ingredients

  • 1 cup roasted skinless peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon Honey (optional)
  • A pinch of salt.

Procedure

  1. Place roasted peanut in a blender jar. Pulse until the peanut is broken down.
  2. Continue blending for some minutes.
  3. Stop to scrape the sides and bottom. 
  4. Add honey (if using) and salt to the ground peanut
  5. Blend and scrape sides and bottom whenever necessary.
  6. After sometime, a dough ball start to form.
  7. Spread the ball and continue processing it.
  8. Now the dough ball starts to separate.
  9. Run the blender and blend the mixture until smooth and creamy.
  10. Store in a cool dry place.

  • Blend and scrape side and bottom whenever necessary.
  • After some time, a dough ball start to form.
  • Spread the ball and continue processing it.
  • Now the dough ball starts to separate.
  • Run the blender and blend the mixture until smooth and creamy.
  • Store in a cool dry place.
